AFCON 2021Q: Kwesi Appiah won the tactical war – South Africa coach

Bafana Bafana head coach Molefi Ntseki has admitted Kwesi Appiah’s tactical superiority helped the Black Stars beat the South Africans in their AFCON 2021 qualifying match at the Cape Coast Stadium on Thursday night.

Thomas Partey and substitute Kudus Mohammed scored in either half to hand Kwesi Appiah’s men all three points in front of a capacity crowd in Cape Coast.

Ahead of the match, Ntseki sounded caution to Ghana, describing it as a “war of tactics”.

After South Africa defeated, Ntseki was quick to acknowledge Appiah’s superiority on the day.

“I’ve got so much respect for Kwesi Appiah. Tactics will always win games but tactics will have to go with effort.

“And if you look at the game, Ghana’s efforts exceeded ours.

“So if you want me to admit it, yes, Kwesi Appiah won this tactical war,” Ntseki said at the post game press conference.

Ghana arrived in Accra on Friday morning and will fly out to Sao Tome and Principe later on same day ahead of their second group game on Monday.
