AshGold Sporting Club will have to find a new Chief Executive Officer after the current one, Frederick Acheampong, resigned on Thursday.
He announced this via his personal Twitter handle and said that he was no longer with the club since April 30.
No reasons have been given by the club but Acheampong, on his part, said his reasons for walking away were ‘personal’.
Acheampong became the club’s CEO in 2018 and he supervised the club’s participation in the CAF Confederation Cup in 2019.
In his tweet, he thanked the club for the chance to serve and he thanked the team’s management and fans for their support.
End of a golden road.
I have tendered in my resignation as C.E.O. of @AshantiGoldSC_ effective 30th April 2020.
I have grown and learnt immensely at the club but it’s time to move on for personal reasons.
Thanks Champion, the club and supporters for the opportunity #miners 💪🏽 pic.twitter.com/7sMagityhl

With Acheampong resigning from AshGold, it is unclear if he will still hold his position on the Executive Council of the Ghana FA since being attached to a club in the local football structure is a requirement for being part of the Association.
