First thing I’ll do when I’m allowed to go to Brazil is kiss my mother – Ronaldinho

Former Brazil superstar Ronaldinho says the first thing he’ll do when he’s finally allowed to return to Brazil is to give his mother a huge kiss.

Ronaldinho has been in Paraguay for over a month following his arrest in March for entering the country with a fake passport.

After spending a month in prison, Ronaldo was allowed to spend the time until his trial under house arrest.

And speaking in his first interview since his arrest, Ronaldinho says he plans to appreciate his mother who has been so worried about him in his predicament.

“The first thing will be to give a big kiss to my mother who has lived through these difficult days since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in her home,” he added.

“Then it will be to absorb the impact that this situation has generated and move forward with faith and strength.”

Ronaldinho has a very close relationship with his mother and was reportedly allowed to call her every night while he was in prison.

The player also spoke about his case and how surprised he had been when he and his brother, who was arrested with him, were told that the passports were fake.

“We were totally surprised to learn that the documents were not legal,” he said.

“Since then our intention has been to collaborate with the justice system to clarify the facts.”

He admitted that the experience was traumatising for him as he had always sought to bring joy to his fans through his actions.

“From that moment until today, we have explained everything and facilitated everything that has been requested of us,” he said

“It was a tough blow, I never imagined that I would go through such a situation. All my life I have sought to reach the highest professional level and bring joy to people with my football.”

Ronaldinho and his brother, who were released after paying their $1.6 million bail, are staying at the Presidential Hotel Palmaroga in Paraguayan capital Asuncion under house arrest.
