Kumasi Asante Kotoko, fans celebrate 85th anniversary

The Asante Kotoko fans were in fine voice during and after the game against Hearts of Oak

Kumasi Asante Kotoko are marking 85 years since their creation today.

In a tweet, the club stated that its legacy and story as “the biggest football club on the continent” has grown significantly over the last 85 years and continues to do so.

The club has won 23 Premier League titles since it was founded in 1935.

Kotoko have also been African champions twice and have won the FA Cup nine times.

In 2010, the International Football Federation of History and Statistics (IFFHS) named Kotoko the African Club of the Century.

Fans of the club have since been sending their best wishes to the Kumasi side on Twitter.
