Revealed: The real reason PSG reportedly want to sign Andre Ayew

PSG may be one of the most financially powerful football clubs in the world but the French team will not spend thoughtlessly during this summer transfer window.

Impacted by the Covid-19 epidemic the Paris will record big financial losses this season and even if UEFA has announced a relaxation of the financial fair play rules, a certain financial prudence is still required.

According to French website jounesfooteux.com, PSG sporting director Leonardo is on the lookout for good shots in the transfer market without doling out huge sums as the club has been known to do over the years.

Haber Turk media, reported earlier on Monday that PSG would be closely interested in the prolific Championship striker Andre Ayew of Swansea City and also formerly of rivals Olympique de Marseille.

Owner of a very good season in the colors of Swansea City with 18 goals and 7 assists in all competitions this season,  the Ghanaian international striker could be signed by the Parisiens following the departure of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

PSG have reportedly put € 5m on the table to buy the last year of André Ayew’s contract with the British club.

The French outfit however goes on to say that the transfer rumour should be taken with a grain of salt. Even though Swansea missed out on Premier League qualification, Ayew will only leave the Swans if a club matches his massive salary of € 3.6m per season.
