Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Emmanuel Nettey has admitted that he and his colleagues dearly miss the game of football which doubles as their passion and occupation.
Football in Ghana has been suspended since March 15,2020 due to Covid 19 with the Ghana Premier League being the hardest hit.
Ghana’s age restricted female national teams have been granted special permission to prepare for qualifiers however, league football has not been extended that privilege.
While on punditry duty on Citi fm the versatile midfielder stated that there is a burning desire to return to the pitch.
His comments come on the back of the GFA’s tentative plan to resume the league by the second week of October upon consultation with government on the country’s Covid – 19 status.
“What we are all praying for is for football to return so we can go back.
“No matter the format they are going to use all we are praying for is that football should just come back.
“We are itching to play and or fans are itching to watch.
“What ever measures the FA have put in place for us we will embrace it,” he disclosed.
As part of plans to possibly resume the league in October, the FA is considering a number of formats that will seek to maximize time and resources based on the current circumstances.
