Female athletes in Ghana have suffered their fair share of prejudice over the years, with regards to their looks.
The tendency of local female athletes to be considered close to the bottom on the beauty scale is very high.
Black Queens forward, Sherifatu Sumaila, has weighed in on this flawed narrative, and has encouraged Ghanaian men to look beyond the prejudice.
She posted on her official Twitter handle,
“Female athletes are the best wives. We are trolled for having firm bodies. We have strong hearts, can endure anything that comes our way, are patient and understanding.”
