Boadu will have as much ‘freedom’ as he wants – Togbe Afede XIV

Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV has stated that new coach Samuel Boadu will be solely responsible for bringing in his own technical support team.

Boadu was unveiled as head coach for the Ghanaian giants at a ceremony after the resignation of Kosta Papic last month.

It has been alleged in the past that the board of the club is notorious for meddling in the affairs of the technical team.

However, Togbe Afede says the former Medeama gaffer will be given the freedom to decide who gets to be his assistant.

“We have agreed that technical matters will be his responsibility, it does not prevent the board from making appropriate recommendations but that would be his domain.” He said at the unveiling ceremony.

“We have always recognized in our contract the right of the coach to make his technical decisions for which he will take responsibility.

“Coach Samuel Boadu will have as much freedom as he wants and as he deserves.”

It is remains unclear whether Boadu will bring on board his assistant from Medeama, Hamza Obeng to the club.
