After recording a goalless draw with Nigeria at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Friday, Ghana will look to seal qualification as they make the trip to Abuja on Tuesday.
The Black Stars delivered a good all-around performance but were lacking the finishing touch as they failed to grab a goal against the Super Eagles.
Nigeria on the other hand will aim to use their 60,000 capacity stadium to full advantage as they battle Otto Addo’s side.
They have the power in their hands as they prevented Ghana from scoring in the first leg.
Ghana to use a score draw to qualify
Ghana looked a well-drilled side on Friday, maintaining a proper defensive shape to thwart their opponents throughout.
However, their bane was chance creation which ultimately did not help them to find the back of the net.
This is understandable as some of the players up front were now getting to understand each other which will improve in Abuja.
The Black Stars will be expected to squeeze a 1-1 draw out of the Super Eagles to qualify for the World Cup.
The odds
Nigeria are slight favorites to win the game according to Betway, with their odds currently priced at 2.09 whilst that of Ghana stands at 3.85. A 1-1 correct score is currently priced at 5.60.
Team News
Ghana will be boosted by the fitness of Afena Gyan who participated in the team’s recovery session on Saturday.
Augustine Eguavoen has a healthy number of players to call upon and will hope to give Ademola Lookman a chance to shine.
