Former Black Stars and Hearts of Oak forward, Mohammed Polo, has urged the Ghana Football Association to naturalize Asante Kotoko’s Cameroonian striker, Frank Mbella Etouga.
The 22-year-old has scored 19 goals so far this season, an impressive return after joining the Porcupine Warriors at the start of the season.
With the Black Stars currently lacking potent goalscorers, Polo, who won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1978 with Ghana, believes Etouga could solve Ghana’s goalscoring problems.
Speaking in an interview on Beach FM, the former Hearts of Oak coach said, “Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that. He is African, he is playing in the Ghanaian league, he is playing the highest level of football and he is doing well.
“In his country, nobody saw him and if he’s come into our country and doing well in our league, it means we have given him the chance and so there’s nothing wrong with that.” Polo, who played and coached Kotoko’s bitter rivals Hearts of Oak”.
