Ghana and Stade Rennes winger, Kamaldeen Sulemana has not been included in the final top 3 list for the 2022 CAF Young player of the year award.

The 20-year old was initially shortlisted with four others for the award but was unable to make the final cut.

Hannibal Mejbri (Tunisia & Manchester United), Karim Konate (Cote d’Ivoire & ASEC/RB Salzburg) and Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal & Metz) are the three players who will now fight for the ultimate price.

Sulemana joined Rennes from Nordjsaelland from Denmark for about 20 million Euros and despite injury setbacks, made 20 appearances for Rennes and scoring 4 while assisting two in the process.

He made it to Ghana’s squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, his first senior tournament with the national team and played in all three group games but was unable to make it for the 2022 World Cup play-off against Nigeria in March.

The 2022 CAF Awards will be held in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday, July 21.
