Accra Hearts of Oak will play Malian side, Real Bamako in the second round of the 2022/2023 CAF Confederations Cup.

The Phobians drew a bye in the first round and will have to navigate their way around the 2021–22 Malian Cup winners.

Samuel Boadu’s team will travel to Mali on the weekend of October 7-9, 2022 for the first leg encounter.

The return leg will be held at the Accra Sports Stadium on the weekend of October 14-16, 2022.

Real Bamako qualified from the first round by beating AS Douanes of Burkina Faso 3-1 on penalties at the Stade Modibo Kéïta in Bamako, after a goalless aggregate score.

The winner of the Hearts and Real Bamako tie will move to the play-off round where they will take on one of the sixteen losers from the CAF Champions League second round.

Hearts of Oak are Ghana’s only representative in Africa following Kumasi Asante Kotoko’s disappointing exit from the CAF Champions League.
