Qatar 2022: Dr. Tony Aubynn emphatic that Ghana will win World Cup

Executive Committee Member of the Ghana Football Association, Dr. Tony Aubynn has reiterated his conviction that Ghana will be Champions of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Medeama Board Chairman had indicated during the launch of the Stars4Qatar promo that he dreamt of the Black Stars presenting the World Cup trophy back home in Ghana.

Otto Addo’s team will head into the global tournament as the lowest ranked of the 32 qualified nations.

However, Dr. Aubynn is confident, that the Black Stars can prove their doubters wrong when the competition begins in November.

“If you don’t dream big, you never get there. Forget about being the lowest-ranked nation. In 2006, we were amongst the lowest ranked countries in the world. But, we went and beat number 2, the Czech Republic. We beat them simply. And then, we beat the United States. We were not pushovers even with our low ranking before the match.”

“If you look at the kind of preparations we are putting together, I am sure by the time we end the World Cup], they will change our rankings. We can move from grass to grace.”

Ghana is ranked 60th in the latest FIFA rankings ahead of the World Cup and will face Portugal, South Korea, and Uruguay, who are all in the top 20.
