Kamal Sowah

Ghanaian winger, Kamal Sowah, was given his marching orders in Club Brugge’s hard fought goalless draw with Spanish side Atletico Madrid.

The Game 4 matchup at the group stage of the 2022-2023 season in Madrid had the 22 year old fast rising Sowah get ejected from the game in the 82nd minute for kicking the ball away after the referee had whistled for an infringement.

He picked up his second yellow card for his action and got sent off after picking his first yellow card in added on time in the first half.

However, the Belgian side, Brugge, held on to record its fourth straight clean sheet in this year’s competition.

Sowah went into tonight’s game on the back of scoring goals against Atletico in the first leg and FC Porto, but is set to miss the second leg against Porto due to the suspension.

The draw ensures Brugge qualifies to the Round of 16 with two games to spare ahead of Porto, Atletico and Bayer Leverkusen. Brugge has 10 points from winning three of four games.
