‘Bring The Best In You’ – PGA President Urges Professional Golfers

President of Professional Golfers Association (PGA) Mr. Mark Coffie has urged all professional golfers to put up their very best performance in the ongoing Gold Fields PGA Tournament at Damang, Tarkwa.

The 9th edition of PGA Golf tournament Teed Off on Wednesday and will end on Saturday December 3.

32 professional golfers and 16 seniors will be competing for the ultimate prizes in their various categories.

In all, the regular pros will play all rounds for two days and will be cut to 24 for the remaining two days.

Whereas the Senior will play all rounds for two days and will be cut to eight for the last day.

‘I want to welcome everybody and wish you the very best of luck and may the best player become victorious. I also want to thank our partners and their hard work. I have seen the course and must say it is one of the best Golf courses we have in this country.

‘We have no excuses and we want to bring the best of the best sport in PGA championship as the final event for the year we look forward to a good four day tournament.’

Organizing Committee Chairman, for Gold Fields PGA championship Hans De Beer expects the best of play from the golfers but however underscored rules and strategies on the course.

‘I want to say big thank you for the work done on the course, well deserved golfers you played various competitions to be here.

‘If there are any problems on the course let me know, there are drop zones at some strategic places so kindly be aware of it.

‘The price money for the whole-in-one is still GHC 20,000 and has been extended to all three pars because we have changed the rules. So feel free and enjoy your tournament and wishing you the very best of luck.’’

The total prize money for pros is GHC 267,000 and that of the seniors is GHC 69,500 cedis, making a grand total of 336,500 Cedis an increment in the total prize money from last year, which was GHC 172,000 Cedis.
Winning prize for this year is GHC 60,000 cedis for pros and GHC 20,000 for seniors.
