Ghana defender Daniel Amartey made his debut in the Carabao Cup this season as Leicester City beat English League One outfit Milton Keynes Dons in the Round of 16 stage.

Amartey played out the entire duration of the game that had Leicester City get goals from Youri Tielemans, Jamie Vardy and Ayoze Perez.

Prior to the aforementioned matchup, Amartey was on the bench for Leicester City games against Stockport and Newport County.

Operating as a center back, the win over Milton Keynes was Amartey’s first appearance in a Leicester City shirt after playing for Ghana’s Black Stars at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Amartey played in all three Group H games for Ghana that came against Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay.

Despite beating South Korea 3-2, Ghana lost to Portugal and Uruguay to crash out of the tournament at the group phase.
