Touching on what Ghanaian referees could pick up from the just ended World Cup as the betPawa Ghana Premier League returns, the retired referee called for game officials to make calls that stems from they having the right conscience.

“The referees must go there (into games) with clear conscience, make sure that they apply the laws of the game” he stated before calling for referees to make calls as soon as they happen rather than wait for such situations to play out before whistling.

Eric Mensah said this in light of the absence of VAR technology that aids referees to make calls during games.

Since retiring from active refereeing, Owusu Mensah has picked up the role of Ashanti Regional Association Football Instructor.
