Ghanaian player Joshua Bolma was selected by MLS Team New England Revolution in the 2023 draft held on Wednesday December 21.
The midfielder was picked in the adidas Super Draft event in round one. The 20 year old was born in Accra, Ghana and played for Rising Star Academy before moving to the United States. Where he attended South Kent High School in Connecticut before advancing to University of Maryland.
“I’m just really excited to be able to get my name called up this early and someone taking a chance on me … that’s just all I dreamed of,” He said on the MLS Youtube broadcast
“This is definitely an amazing moment.” He added
Bolma is one of 11 collegiate underclassmen in the USA to sign an Adidas Generation now contract on Monday prior to Wednesday’s draft.
The highly rated midfielder finished his career at Maryland impressively with six goals and 12 assists in 38 games.
