Medalists at the 2022 Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham have been named among the nominees for the top award in the upcoming SWAG Awards.

The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards is a well-respected award scheme that recognizes Ghanaian athletes for their exceptional performances in the year under review.

This year’s SWAG Awards are to be held on January 28 at the Accra International Conference Center and the upcoming edition is the 47th.

200 metre runner Joseph Paul Amoah, Amateur Boxer Abraham Mensah and footballer Mohammed Kudus have been named in the Sports Personality Award category.

Amoah won bronze in the 200 metre race in Birmingham with a time of 20.49 seconds to become the first African to win a medal in the event since 2006.
