The opponents of the Black Meteors in their third round U-23 African Cup of Nation’s qualifier, DR Congo, are facing possible disqualification from the qualifiers according to reports.
According to the Kinshasa Times, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) informed the President of the Congolese Federation of Football Association (FECOFA) and the country’s Ministry of Sports and Recreation in a letter published 26th January 2023, of their possible disqualification from the qualifiers.
The details of DRC’s disqualification are currently unclear but the reports indicate Algeria, who lost to the Congolese in the previous round, have been called up to replace them in the qualifiers.

The Ghana Football Association will be keeping close tabs in the situation as the Black Meteors are set to face them in the third round of their U-23 AFCON qualifiers, with the tie slated for March 2023.
