Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil’s 2022-2023 season continues to get better as the campaign rolls on with the speedster delivering another headline performance.

Paintsil registered two assists in KRC Genk’s 3-1 win over Club Brugge in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League to bump his tally for the season to six goals and eight assists in 15 league games.

The former Ferencvaros player setup Carlos Cuesta’s goal in the 25th minute to get Genk even after conceding a Hans Vanaken goal in the 21st minute.

Paintsil stepped up to assist forward Paul Onuachu’s goal in the 67th minute to put Genk up 2-1 before Bryan Heynen put the game to bed with a goal in the 81st minute.

Brugge’s Ghanaian duo of Denis Odoi and Kamal Sowah subbed into the game in the 80th minute; Odoi featured in Ghana’s campaign at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Paintsil was shockingly dropped from the squad after being named in the 55 man provisional squad list by then Black Stars head coach Otto Addo.

The win keeps Genk on top of the Jupiler League Pro League  regular season standings with 49 points; seven ahead of second placed Union St. Gilloise.
