A surreal video of former Ghana Black Stars player Christian Atsu’s final moments with his Hatayspor teammates has surfaced on the internet.

The viral video has several members of Hatayspor celebrating Atsu’s goal that sealed a 1-0 win over Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super League.

The goal was Atsu’s first for Hatayspor after joining the team prior to the start of the 2022-2023 season from Saudi side Al-Raed.

Atsu stepped off the bench and scored with his free kick attempt by planting the ball into the right side of the post in the final moments of the league game.

The goal triggered wild celebrations in the stands and from the dugout with Hatayspor coach Volkan Demirel leading the way.

The celebrations continued in the dressing room and Atsu was captured in the video dancing with a teammate to mark the win.

Atsu was caught up in the earthquakes that hit Turkey on February 6 with his apartment collapsing from the natural disaster.

This is not only Atsu’s last goal, but possibly the very last moment the beautiful city of Hatay was in celebratory mood. Very heavy.

RIP Christian Atsu https://t.co/PMPv6ucdWa

His lifeless body was pulled from the rubble 13 days after he went missing in the wake of the devastating quakes.
