Ghanaian football legend Nii Odartey Lamptey has called for patience for football administrators as they strive to improve the fortunes of the betPawa Ghana Premier League.

He said this in an exclusive interview with CITI Sports at a time when the Ghana league is beset with a lot of problems mainly low attendance to games and chronic financial challenges.

While many stakeholders have fingered the Ghana Football Association especially GFA President Kurt Okraku for failing to do more to improve the situation, former Kotoko player Odartey Lamptey took a different stance.

“I think the GFA President is doing very well. I mean years back we did not have sponsorship but currently we have a lot of sponsors that are sponsoring the GPL…but am sure with time things will better” he said.

Odartey Lamptey played for Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club before calling it quits on his well -travelled career that had him play for clubs in China, Netherlands, England and Belgium.
