Ghanaian forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku put up a great individual display, bagging a hat-trick in Sporting CP’s 5-1 thrashing of Ajax in the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) youth league.
Fatawu opened the scoring in the UEFA youth league, round of 16 game, in the 36th minute with a wonderful shot from the edge of the box into the top corner. He doubled his side’s advantage in the 73rd minute tapping in a pass in the penalty box after some bad defending from Ajax.
His teammate Rodrigo Ribeiro got his side the third of the game in the 75th minute.
Issahaku then completed his hat-trick in the 79th minute cutting in from the right flank and neatly finishing into far corner.
Matheus Fernandes got Sporting CP’s fifth of the game before Ajax managed a consolation goal through Tristian Gooijer
The youngster is taking bold steps that might earn him a place in the Sporting CP first team and the Black Stars squad later this month.
