betPawa Premier League:Week 24 wrap

In week 24 of the betPawa Premier League Aduana Stars FC’s poor run of form continued as they drew 1-1 on their visit to Berekum Chelsea.

Their 88th minute opener was cancelled out in added time by Berekum Chelsea’s Mezack Afriyie. Their lead over Bechem United and Medeama is now cut to just one point and two points over fourth placed Accra Hearts of Oak.

Hearts of Oak bounced back from their disappointing 3-0 defeat to Karela United by winning 1-0 at home in the Accra derby against Accra lions.

Linda Mtange’s 65th minute goal was enough to seal the victory for the Phobians.

Asante Kotoko on the other hand dropped valuable points in their quest to defend the title after drawing 1-1 away to Legon Cities. Richard Boadu’s 20th minute penalty was cancelled out by Alex Aso twenty minutes from time. The defending champions currently sit  6th on the league table.

Bechem United had to dig deep to find a goal in added time when they welcomed Dreams FC to the Nana Gyeabour’s Park resulting in a 1-0 victory.

King Faisal bounced back from their 4-2 defeat at Kotoku Royals to pick up 3 points in a 5 goal thriller at home to Karela United.

Karela opened the scoring through Emmanuel Boakye Owusu in the 42nd minute but the goal was cancelled out a minute later by Samuel Kusi. Abdul Latif then restored the lead for King Faisal in the 60th minute and added to their advantage 14 minutes later through Benjamin Bature.

Ishmael Nketsia got one back for Karela but it however proved to be conciliatory. The game ended 3-2.

Samartex recorded a 2-1 victory over Kotoku Royals as did Tamale City who need needed a Matthew Agama added time goal to seal their victory over Nsoatreman.

Walid Fuseni levelled the game following John Kofi of Nsoatreman putting the ball in the back of his own net for the opener.

Elsewhere Medeama SC were 1-0 winners at home against Bibiani Gold stars courtesy of a 71st minute Vincent Atinga goal while Real Tamale United sent Accra Great Olympics into the drop zone by beating them 3-1 at home.

The Dade Boys currently sit second to bottom on the league table with 28 points.
