Left full back Patrick Kpozo has been welcomed by a section of fans known as the Patrick Kpozo Fan Club as the Sheriff Tiraspol man prepares to play for Ghana’s National Men’s Football team later today.
Ghana’s Black Stars take on Angola at 16:00 GMT at the Baba Yara Stadium in the first of two 2023 AFCON qualifiers in Group E.
The game is new Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton’s debut as the lead technical brain and the former Brighton and Hove Albion coach named Kpozo in his 25 man squad for the two legged tie against Angola.
Kpozo has been a consistent top performer in the Moldovan League and the Europa League for Tiraspol competing in high profile games against the likes of Manchester United.
Clad in yellow shirts embossed with photos of former Inter Allies player Kpozo at the front and holding Ghana flags, members of the Patrick Kpozo Fan Club made the trip to the Baba Yara Stadium several hours before kickoff.
25 year old Kpozo is in a straight battle with AJ Auxerre’s Gideon Mensah for the Black Stars starting left back role in today’s game.
