‘Aduana well-acquainted with Kwame Kyei Sports Complex after home ban’ – Collins Atta Poku

Board Member for Aduana FC, Collins Atta Poku believes the Dormaa-based side has acquainted itself well with the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex following the FA’s decision to temporarily ban the Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

Fans of Aduana attacked visiting team, Tamale City, leaving some players and officials injured, with City’s team bus also left in a bad state.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) in previous years had spoken against the increasing number of hooliganism cases in the Betpawa Premier League, cautioning the various clubs not to pander to such acts.

The Executive Council of the football body, after analysing the issue, placed a temporary ban on the Dormaa-based side from using the park as their venue for the rest of their home matches.

The two-time Premier League champions have lost just once at the new grounds, in the cup match against King Faisal at the quarterfinal stage of the MTN FA CUP.

Speaking to Citi Sports on what he makes of the home switch with eight games to end the season, Collins Atta Poku believes Paa Kwesi Fabin’s quest to clinch the title is still on course despite the home venue change.

“Aduana FC is certainly going to miss their home grounds, but the good thing for them is that, the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex turf is a very good one.”

“It is a very good stadium, with a very good pitch and Aduana FC plays well on good pitches.”

“You check their away wins this season, they beat Olympics at Sogakope, and they beat Hearts of Oak in Accra, it tells you that away from home, they play well.”

“I believe they have the most away wins in the league, thus far.”

“You look at the pitch itself; they have been bussing supporters to the Abrankese from Dormaa Ahenkro.”

“They are doing everything humanly possible to cushion the supporters.”

“They are yet to play some of the big teams in the premier league at the Dr Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.”

Aduana FC are on the road this weekend to Kumasi for the clash against the reigning champions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
