Matchweek 27 of the betPawa Ghana Premier League came with excitement and drama.

Defending champions Asante Kotoko took on league leaders Aduana Stars in an exciting game that ended 2-1 in favour of the home team.

Isaac Mintah put Aduana ahead 25 minutes into the game before Steve Mukwala restored parity for the home team 8 minutes before the break.

Eric Zeze’s solo effort from the edge of the box on 71 minutes was however the defining moment game.

The result puts Asante Kotoko 5 points behind Aduana and in 4th position.

Bechem United welcomed Hearts at home and beat the Phobians 1-0. The only goal of the game came through Hafiz Konkoni from a spot kick in the first half.

Accra Lions were 4-2 winners against 3rd placed Medeama SC in a six goal thriller that saw Seidu Bassit net all four goals for the Accra based club. Vincent Atinga of Medeama also notched a brace for his club with both of his goals coming from the spot.

Dreams FC scored a goal in each half of the game to seal a 2-0 victory when they hosted Samartex.

Ali Huzaf and Godfred Atuahene were on target for Dreams in the first and second half respectively.

Accra Great Olympics’ woes at the bottom half of the table continued as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Tamale City.

Olympics took the lead in the game in the 38th minute courtesy a Christopher Nettey strike before Sampson Eduku snatched a point for Tamale City in added time.

Elsewhere Berekum Chelsea were 1-0 winners on their visit to Bibiani Gold stars as were Nsoatreman who played host to the visiting King Faisal. Samuel Ofori dispatched an injury time penalty that ensured Nsoatreman narrowly escaped with the three points.

Finally Legon Cities made their visit to Karela United a memorable one with a 2-0 win. Michael Otou got his name on the score sheet first in the 15th minute before Alex Aso sealed the game for the visitors in injury time after both teams had a player sent off.
