FC Samartex 1996 staged an extraordinary comeback to earn a vital victory against Accra Hearts of Oak in the betpawa premier league matchday 30 at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex.

Annor Walker’s side came from behind to record a 3-2 win, which cushions them in their fight against relegation as they move to 42 points, four more away from the drop zone.

Samartex Gaffer Annor Walker made two changes to the team that lost 2-0 to Bechem United in the last round as captain Emmanuel Adu Siaw was benched for Isaac Afful in the starting lineup.

Workaholic midfielder Dauda Yussif Seidu returned from suspension to take his place in the starting lineup, replacing Abdul Hanan Alhassan.

On the other hand, Hearts’ interim coach David Ocloo made three alterations to the squad that beat King Faisal 2-0 in the last match at the Accra Sports Stadium, with Gladson Awako getting his first start in three months.

Salifu Ibrahim also earned a starting place for the first time since February 19, after he notched a goal against King Faisal in the last encounter.

Hearts got themselves into the lead in the 64th minute through Linda Mtange, who scored his third goal of the campaign.

The home side levelled matters in the 75th minute with a goal from midfielder Emmanuel Keyekeh.

Samartex FC got the winning goal in stoppage-time when midfielder Dauda Yussif Seidu put the ball behind the net.

The results means, Hearts of Oak drop to fifth position on the league standings and remain six points behind leaders Aduana FC, who have a game in hand.

Samartex FC on the other hand, are currently 8th on the standings with 42points.

Elsewhere in Kumasi, Reigning Champions Kumasi Asante Kotoko failed to return to wining ways after they were held by Bibiani Gold Stars to a one-all draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Porcupines took the lead as early as the 4th minute through Solomon Sarfo Taylor, before Abednego Tetteh grabbed the equalizer in the dying embers of the game.

His 12th goal of the season for Bibiani Gold Stars this season.
