Ghana’s U-20 female side, the Black Princesses, have reached the final of the maiden edition of the WAFU B U-20 Girl’s Cup, after coming from behind to beat Burkina Faso 3-1 on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

The team begun the game poorly as they conceded an early goal in the 4th minute of the encounter, however, Stella Nyame quickly leveled the game for Ghana in the 13th minute, before Success Ameyaa gave the Princesses a 2-1 lead in the 28th minute to ensure the team went into the break with the advantage.

The 2nd half of the game resumed with Burkina Faso searching for the equaliser but they were not able to find a way through the defence of Yussif Basisgi’s side.

Faiza Seidu scored the third goal for the Princesses with seven minutes left to end regular time, to secure the victory for Ghana and ensure the team progressed to the final.

The Black Princesses will now face Nigeria in the final on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, as they look to host and win the maiden edition of the competition.
