University of Cape Coast (UCC) Basketball Team Official Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi has described his outfit’s campaign at the Federation of Africa University Sports (FASU) Games as “challenging” and “difficult”.

He said this in an interview with Citi Sports after UCC’s Men’s Basketball Team triumphed in this year’s edition that was held at the University of Johannesburg-Soweto in South Africa.

UCC beat United States International University-Kenya 21-12 in the final game of the 3×3 competition to win the competition and book its place at the FISU University 3×3 World Cup.

According to Dr. Opoku-Antwi, there were major challenges for his team that were connected to the cold weather in South Africa and the level of competition.

“The most difficult was against the University of Botswana because we had gone four games straight and that was our fifth game in the cold weather.

The most challenging was against the University of Johannesburg where the home crowd behind them and they were a bunch of very good and talented players”.

Dr. Eric Opoku-Antwi

UCC Men’s Basketball Team is the reigning Ghana University Sports Association (GUSA) Games champion.
