Banabas Tagoe, the 19 year old son of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Joe Tagoe, has signed a three and a half year deal with Swedish side Malmo FF.
The younger Tagoe is expected to join the Swedish side’s youth team and continue his development in his young professional career.
Tagoe who can play as a wing back and as a left winger, has prior experience in Europe after having a stint with Ukrainian side Dynamo Kiev last year.
“Malmö FF strengthens the academy with Banabas Tagoe. The 19-year-old Ghanaian has spent the past few months on trial with the association’s U19 team. During his first time in MFF, Taogoe has been tested as a left-back but also has experience of playing in more offensive positions.
Initially, Banabas Tagoe will train with the P19 team. He has signed a contract that runs until the end of 2026. We warmly welcome Tagoe to Malmö FF!” the club stated.
Ghanaian players have an extensive history competing for Malmo with the likes of Emmauel Lomotey and Malik Abubakari playing for the team in recent seasons.
Nicknamed Bobby Short, Joe Tagoe starred for Accra Hearts of Oak after joining the Phobia Club from rival club Accra Great Olympics.
