Day One of the Ghana Swim League’s Meet of Champions came off earlier today at the Burma Camp Sports Complex.
The league seeks to encourage competitive swimming for Ghanaian swim teams and their promising swimmers to compete for the crown of Ghana’s best swim team.
Speaking at the event President of the Ghana Swimming Association Delphina Quaye summarized what the league is all about along with the aim of the initiative
“The Ghana Swim League is a seasonal program organized by the Ghana Swimming League (GSL) the GSL was given permission by the Ghana Swimming Association to organize the event. It’s a seasonal thing, six months in a season and this is the final of finals” she said
“For us at the GSA we want swimming to be known in the country and there should be some type of activity every now and then. For swimming, you need to be active because the more you swim, the more you are able to drop your time. So the GSL is providing that for us” she added
The Meet of Champions wraps up on the 2nd of July and promises to be very exciting
