Not the best start Seth Gyimah hoped for after announcing his decision to represent Ghana at the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympic qualifiers in Dakar, Senegal.
Ghana’s Olympic Boxing team, the Black Bombers for the men & Black Hitters for the women are currently in the West African country with the objective of hoisting the flag of Ghana high and making the mark for qualifying to Paris for the Olympic Games next year.
Seth Gyimah popularly known as “Freezy MacBones” recorded his first loss in his boxing career to Senegal’s Seydou Konate in the Light Heavyweight division[81kg] in the round of 16 preliminary rounds, failing to progress to the next phase of the competition.
It is Gyimah’s debut for Ghana after arriving from the United Kingdom to Ghana and joining his fellow boxers for the assignment in Senegal, with hopes of further representing the country in Paris.
