Hasaacas Ladies Football Club head coach Yusif Basigi is confident his team will perform better than it did last season.
He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports ahead of the 2023-2024 Malta Guinness Ghana Women’s Premier League season that commences on the weekend of October 31 to November 2.
Hasaacas Ladies are scheduled to take on Sea Lions in the opening game of the new season after missing out on the league title to Ampem Darkoa Ladies for the second year in a row.
“Those who played last year, many of them were Division One players and they managed to get to that level (finish second) and now they played a season meaning that they’ve gained experience and I’ve also augmented the team with Premier division players.
That is why I am very much hopeful we are going to perform better than last season.”
Ampem Darkoa beat Hasaacas to win the FA Cup and league titles; Ampem Darkoa has since qualified to compete at the group stage of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
