Kpando Heart of Lions Head Coach, Abdul Fatawu Salifu has lauded the decision of management to move the Club’s home venue from the SOGAKOPE Wafa Park to the new 10,000-seater Hohoe Sports Stadium.
The newly-promoted side, Heart of Lions initially opted for the WAFA Park as their home ground but had to relocate due to the Akosombo Dam spillage, impacting the Sogakope environment.
In an interview with Citi Sports, Abdul Fatawu Salifu affirmed his belief that the players are ready to acclimatize to the AstroTurf.
With me, i think it is fine, the decision to play at the WAFA Park was due to the Hohoe Sports Stadium not ready to host us.
I think there were some things that were supposed to be put in place, that is how come the team decided to move to the Sogakope Park.
Hohoe is deeply in Volta Region and close to Kpando and now that we are going back, i think it is best for the people of Volta Region and the club as a whole.
Though it is the first time playing there, i don’t think it is a worry, because we train on astroturf , and now that our home turf is an astroturf, i think it is a good decision for the club.
The newly promoted side, Kpando Heart of Lions, remain the only side in the betPawa premier league to draw all five premier league games under Head Coach Abdul Fatawu Salifu.
Next up is against Karela United at home on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 3 pm kick-off time.
