Co-Founder of the Mode Basketball Camp, Rebecca May, says the upcoming event will facilitate basketball opportunities for participants in Canada.
She said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports ahead of the Mode Basketball Camp that is set to take place on October 7 and October 8 at the University of Ghana main court.
May is organizing the two day basketball event with former Mfantsipim School basketball star Maxwell Okoampah who recently graduated from the University of Saskatchewan. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
Speaking ahead of the event, May said, “The talents the kids in Ghana have is amazing and I’m just really glad that we could bring some technical skills to them here and also help them find some opportunities in North America.”
“We’ve partnered with schools in Saskatchewan already over the next years. We are looking at building that partnership. The camp is a big part of facilitating some of those things for them as well (as) creating those opportunities.”
Okoampah missed out on a Canadian national title in the 2022 final after falling 72-85 to Carleton University.
