In a thrilling face-off at the Liberty Park in Dansoman, Nasrawa ORISCO clinched a 1-0 victory over Agege Shiabu in the Ursula Cup.

ORISCO triumphed in the 11th edition of the Ursula Cup, an event headlined by Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency.

Former Black Stars players Charles Asampong (Charles Taylor), Peter Ofori Quaye, John Paintsil, Sammy Adjei, Dan Quaye, Mohammed Polo and Augustine Arhinful were present at the event.

The competition is the latest development in Honourable Owusu-Ekuful’s sports portfolio after the Member of Parliament funded the refurbishment of the Dansoman basketball court in 2020.

Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful, who doubles as Minister for Communications and Digitalization, urged the youth to engage in various digital programs initiated by her Ministry and the government to enhance their prospects and added,

“This used to be an annual event but the COVID pandemic forced us to take a break and this is the first post COVID edition. We organized this event to bring all the communities in the constituency together…and we are happy with the level of patronage.”

“I hope the youth gathered here would show the same enthusiasm when called on to work for the development of the constituency. I am very happy about the outcome.”

Commencing on September 9, 2023, the competition had 10 community based teams participating with each participant received GH₵5,000. The winning team received GH₵12,000 and the runner-up received GH₵7,000.
