AFC Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has praised Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo in the wake of the former Bristol City player’s performance in a crucial 2-1 win over Burnley.
The win is Bournemouth’s first of the 2023-2024 English Premier League season and Semenyo played a pivotal role in the win largely thanks to his goal in the 22nd minute.
Semenyo scored his debut goal of the season in a 1-3 loss to Liverpool in August and repaid his manager’s faith in starting him by netting the goal that canceled Charlie Taylor’s 11th minute goal for Burnley.
Speaking after the win to Bournemouth’s official media channel, Iraola was impressed with Semenyo’s performance stating, “Ant-Antoine- has been very good. He has been playing really good, very aggressive. You look at the goal he went all the way.”
“I am happy because we made the changes and players that probably they weren’t part of the team in the last games came in and had good performances and I think it’s very good for the group.”
