Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton says his side won’t pay attention to individual players in the Mexican side ahead of the Black Stars clash with Mexico at 12:30 AM on Sunday, October 15 at the Bank of America Stadium in the US.
The game against Mexico is the first of two international friendly games Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team is billed to play in the US. Ghana plays USA on Wednesday, October 18.
Speaking in the lead up to the game, the former Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United manager highlighted the presence of high profile players like Fulham striker Raul Jimenez in the Mexican team but refused to be drawn into focusing on individuals.
“Jimenez of course is one that we know very well but as regards to paying attention to individuals, we can’t afford to do that.”
“What we have seen in this Mexican team is a very committed team (with) a way of playing and a group of players that perform very well for their nation so we have to treat this as a whole we know they have good individual players this is normal but we have to treat it as a whole. I think we are up against a very good team.”
