Minister for Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif has pegged November as the month three youth resource centres get commissioned for use.
The Koforidua (Eastern Region), Axim (Western Region) and Wa (Upper West Region) youth resource centres have been earmarked for completion next month.
The development of the resources centres across selected locations in all of Ghana’s former 10 regional enclaves is one of the ruling government’s marquee programs to develop sports in the country.
Speaking after inspecting the resource centre in Koforidua, the Sports Minister, who inspected the facility with the CEO of Ghana’s National Youth Authority Pius Enam Hadzide, stated that the facilities will push the development of sports forward.
“I am so excited, excited because I’m impressed about the work done here. The last time we came here, we all saw the progress of work… and today I’m so excited and happy that the progress so far is almost 98%. We can go ahead to make the preparation for commissioning by next month.”
“(This) Massive infrastructure that we have put together to push for the development of sports not only for football but the various sports disciplines that we have in this country.”
