Ghana Football Association Executive Council Member, Frederick Acheampong has revealed that the Disciplinary Committee will further impose sanctions on premier league side Bofoakwa Tano after a section of the club’s fans assaulted Maxwell Konadu, who is the Head Coach of Nsoatreman FC.
The Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association have placed a temporary ban on the Sunyani Coronation Park which disallows the home team to honour their home games at the venue.
In an interview with Umaru Sanda on Eyewitness News on Monday, November 20, 2023, Frederick Acheampong revealed the DC will continue to sit on the matter and further sanction Bofoakwa Tano for the misconduct of some fans during the Bono Derby on Sunday.
“Tano Bofoakwa who in this case were the home team will not be able to use the stadium, until the case is adjudicated and the right processes are followed” he said
So that is what the Ghana football association has done so far the case will be referred to the disciplinary committee and it will be heard and the necessary sanctions will be applied” he added
The Ghana Police stated on Monday, November 21, 2023, that one suspect named Seidu Musah in connection with the attack on Nsoatreman Head Coach Maxwell Konadu has been arrested.
