Ghana’s representative in the 2023 CAF Women’s Champions League, Ampem Darkoa Ladies Football Club, has made a major financial gain.

This comes in the wake of the team’s qualification to the semifinals of the continental championship with a 3-1 win over Equatorial Guinea’s Huracanes seeing the Malta Guinness Ghana Women’s Premier League winners make it beyond the group stage.

Despite suffering a 3-0 loss to Mali’s AS Mande, Ampem Darkoa topped Group B largely thanks to a shock 1-0 win over defending champions FAR Rabat of Morocco.

Ampem Darkoa topped the group with six points due to owning the head to head advantage over FAR who recorded six points.

By progressing to the semis, Ampem Darkoa is guaranteed $200, 000 and making it to the final game would mean the team gets the chance to win $50,000 more should they finish in second place.

Should Ampem Darkoa win the title, the Joe Nana Adarkwa led team would bag $200,000; Ampem Darkoa plays Moroccan side Sporting Casablanca on Wednesday, November 15 at 20:00 GMT.
