Consul of Ghana to Italy, Massimiliano Colasuonno Taricone, has hit back at critics over registration fees for the Juventus Academy, Ghana.

Registration fees for the recently opened academy that is fronted by former Black Stars midfielder-defender ,Kwadwo Asamoah, has caused a lot of stir on the internet due to the high fees and denomination attached to the fees.

The payment options for enrolment to the academy have trended on social media with the least amount being $1500 for the 6 to 8 age category while the 15 to 19 age category attracts a fee of $3000 to register.

This has attracted a lot of backlash from several Ghanaian quarters who believe the fees are too high and neglects a significant section of the Ghanaian populace especially talented players who often come from poor backgrounds.

In response, Taricone wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page, “Ghana is that country where they criticize you if you do nothing and if you do something”

“We will have a section dedicated only to the talented and the less privileged which will be entirely free, including room and board. we will open to justifiers soon. But it was right to have an elite section too.”

The academy aims to spread the Juventus FC’s methods and values and provide young players aged between six to 21 years with opportunities to learn, grow, and flourish, both on and off the pitch.

The registration fees for the Juventus Academy Ghana are as follows:

•For children aged 6-8 years: $1500
•For those aged 9-11 years: $2000
•For ages 12-14 years: $2500
•For ages 15-19 years: $3000

Additionally, the kit prices are $400 and $450. pic.twitter.com/5vbQRcq0ms
