Black Stars Skipper Andre Ayew was shown a red in the 67th minute against Nantes in the French Ligue 1 for a high challenge on Swiss defender Eray Cormet.
The 34-year-old was subbed on in the 65th minute, making his debut for the club after signing for the French side some weeks ago.
Ayew featured for the Black Stars in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Comoros in the second group game at the Stade Moroni on November 21, where Ghana lost by a goal to nil.
Ayew was yanked off in the first half following a poor showing against Stephan Cusin’s Comoros.
The former Marseille forward who was playing his first competitive game in club football did not last the entire duration of the second half, with his side playing a goalless draw against Nantes.
Alors là… Rouge pour André Ayew qui venait d’entrer depuis trois minutes… Rouge là-dessus, vraiment ??? 🤬
On joue la 68e, le HAC va donc devoir tenir… ALLEZ !!!#FCNHAC | 0⃣-0⃣

Despite the man advantage, Nantes were faced with some resolute defending, meaning La Maison Jaune could only muster a point to break their losing run.
Making up for their woes in front of goal in the defensive department, Les Ciel et Marine remain in the top half for now, but a five-match unbeaten run will be in serious jeopardy as they face Paris Saint-Germain next weekend.
𝗖’𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶 ! ⏹️
Bien que réduit à dix dès la 68e après l’expulsion d’André Ayew, le HAC rapporte un point et un clean sheet de son déplacement à Nantes.
