Hamza Issah is like Romario- Hearts coach praises 21 year old forward

Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club head coach, Martin Koopman, has doubled down on his belief that Hearts forward Hamza Issah plays like Romario.

Romario is a retired Brazilian football legend who starred in and won the 1994 FIFA World Cup and played for FC Barcelona in Spain.

He said this after watching Issah score a brace in Hearts 3-1 win over Medeama in the 2023-2024 BetPawa Premier League Week 8 fixture.

However, Issah missed out on the chance to register a hat-trick in the game as he had to leave the game after the first half due to a stomach issue.

“It was a pity that Hamza was sick at half time, he had a little problem with his stomach…so I must change him but you see the qualities of Hamza.”

“He has something from Romario, low on the ground, turns very fast. I like him very much. It was a pity that we had to change him but all the other players did a very good job.”
