The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and other high-ranking government officials recently engaged with the media at the incomplete Bortey Sports Complex as the fast-approaching 2023 Africa Games loom.
Dr. Bawumia, accompanied by the Youth Sports Ministers, Mustapha Ussif (main) and Evans Bobbie (deputy), the Minister for the Greater Accra Region, Henry Quartey, and the LOC Chairman for the Africa Games, Dr. Kwaku Ofosu Asare, were all present to tour the unfinished facility.
With the tournament just 100 days away, concerns are mounting, and many strongly believe that Ghana may not be able to host the rest of the continent in 2024.
Scheduled for March 8, 2024, the tournament is anticipated to welcome over 50 countries participating in more than 20 sporting disciplines.
