Nations Football Club head coach, Kassim Ocansey Mingle, says his team deserved the close win over Aduana Stars on Match Week 14 of the Ghana Premier League 2023-2024 season.

Nations bagged a 2-1 win over Aduana who went into the game as league leaders but got usurped by FC Samartex 1996 due to the loss.

Samartex on the other hand, scored a 2-0 win over Kpando Heart of Lions; Nations FC has moved to fifth place in the 18 team Ghana league standings.

Speaking in the post game interview, coach Mingle was adamant his side deserved the win in front of its home fans at Abrankese.

“We were the better side and we won. [Coming into the game] We had 20 points and the league leaders had 24 points so if we beat them we cut it-the lead- down to one point so it motivated us to play because we need to be at the top so if you need to be at the top, beat those at the top.”
