I’m more than tired- Inaki Williams after scoring for Bilbao on return from AFCON

Black Stars forward Inaki Williams talked through how tired he was after featuring in Athletic Bilbao’s impressive win over FC Barcelona.

Bilbao beat Barcelona 4-2 after extra time in the quarterfinals of the Copa Del Rey with Inaki Williams scoring and assisting Nico Williams’ goal. Both goal contributions came in extra time.

Inaki Williams subbed into the game in the 59th minute and proceeded to put Bilbao up 3-2 in the 107th minute then assist brother Nico’s goal in added on time in extra time.

The 29 year old’s goal contributions came immediately after he moved from Cote D’Ivoire to Spain 24 hours earlier after Ghana’s elimination from the 2023 AFCON.

Speaking after the game, the older Williams touched on the physical strain on his body after making the journey to Spain right after playing three games for Ghana at the AFCON.

“Honestly, I’d like to go drink some beers with the guys but I’m more than tired. I’m going back home.”

Ghana crashed out of the AFCON at the group stage without a win for the second edition in a row.
