The Administrative Manager for Ghana’s Amputee Football Team Harmis Huzair Mohammed has disclosed to Citi Sports that the promised $2,000 winning bonus for the players following their victorious final against Morocco in the 2023 African Paralympic Games has yet to be fulfilled by the Ministry.

Despite the Black Challenge’s triumphant 2-1 comeback in September 2023, Harmis Huzair expressed frustration in an exclusive interview, emphasizing the Ministry’s failure to honor its commitment.

He went on to convey that the players are contemplating boycotting the upcoming African Amputee Football Nations Cup scheduled for April 18-26, 2024, in Egypt.

We were written by the National Paralympic Committee, that they want to include or involve as part of the disciplines for the para games.

We accepted on certain conditions, so before we participated or started preparations to the games, we were assured of $2,000 for each player, if we are able to progress to the next stage of the competition or win the tournament, we did so and nothing, up to now our players have noy received even a dime as part of the winning bonuses.

It is very sad

Huzair’s timely calls coincide with the team’s preparations for the African Cup of Nations in Cairo, Egypt.
